Combining our knowledge of the body, ceremonial objects and self reflection to hone an offering that we think you will love.
Welcome to our unique course where the art of movement, mindfulness, and creativity converge to guide you on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing. In collaboration with a talented Pilates Teacher and Ceramic Artist, we invite you to explore your body, mind, and spirit in an immersive and creative experience.
Ever since Cat introduced Charlie to the concept of the pelvis as a ‘bowl’ the notion of making a ceramic ‘Pelvic Bowl’ as a powerful, beautiful object for honouring the body has been waiting to bloom. Having worked together for many years, we have combined our knowledge of the body, ceremonial objects and self reflection to hone an offering that we think you will love.
The Pelvis is shaped very much like a bowl. This pelvic bowl is like the foundation of a house, holding and protecting vital organs and the site of the root chakra energy centre, which represents stability, security, and our basic needs. It serves as the true center of gravity of the body, grounding us and providing a sense of balance. When we focus on the pelvic bowl, we tune into our center of self and inner strength, which can help us feel more secure and steady in our lives.
Throughout this course, we will delve into the practice of Hana Somatics, a gentle approach to somatic education that focuses on releasing muscular tension, enhancing body awareness, and fostering a profound connection to your inner self. By integrating Pilates principles, you will engage in movements that strengthen and stabilise your centre, while cultivating a connection and deeper understanding of your pelvic floor and the pelvic bowl. You can read more about Hanna Somatic Education here
Through guided meditation sessions and journal prompts, you will embark on a journey to tap into the wisdom of your body and unlock the transformative power of your breath and somatic movement.
You will then have the opportunity to channel your new found awareness and creative energy into hand building ceramics. Inspired by the concept of the pelvic bowl and the intimate connection to your body, you will craft a ceramic bowl that reflects your personal journey of self-discovery and healing.
Each ceramic bowl created in this course is intended to be a vessel of personal ritual, a sacred object that inspires connection, mindfulness, and self-care. Whether used in daily practices of reflection and gratitude or a focal point for healing intentions your ceramic piece will embody the collective energy and intentions of this journey serving as a tangible symbol of your personal power and capacity for healing
This is an interactive 6-week course with journal prompts and meditations to help guide you in your creative process and ongoing care for your body. Some of the initial work will begin in the form of email communication and a recording to listen to (requiring no more than 30 minutes of your time), which will evolve over the six weeks.
