Pop-up: Charlie Russell X Alice Walton Exhibition

This November Ramsgate will host Goddesses in Bloom, a vibrant and collaborative show by two local female artists, ceramicist Charlie Russell and painter Alice Walton. The pop-up Exhibition will take place in the studio-shop of renowned artist Margo In Margate, it will be a fusing of artistic disciplines.

Charlie is well known for her powerful and spiritual ceramic Goddesses bringing her gold and colour saturated work together with Alice's abstract paintings inspired by lush tropical landscapes.

Both artists share a love for colour and the otherworldly nature of their pieces. Their work compliments through a shared energy—uplifting, positive, and immersive, celebrating the Divine Feminine and Creative Spirit.

By exhibiting together in Margo's Addington Street studio, Alice and Charlie not only celebrate their own artistic expression but also embody the ethos nurtured here by Margo McDaid, of women supporting women in the creative industry.

About Charlie's Work

My ceramic work is a celebration of the Divine Feminine, Personal Power and our profound relationships with Nature and each other. I am inspired by devotional, ceremonial objects, European and South American narrative folk ceramics, inner child work and various restorative practices.

It is a response to the shrines and altars we create in our homes and sacred spaces. Each piece is a Taliswoman for reflection and connection, to hold memory, anchor us, represent our desires and protect our hearts.

I hand-build my work with earthenware clay, hand glaze and embellish with gold and metal leaf. Each unique piece is made with intention and purpose.

My work is intended to bring joy and nurture devotion, self care, transformation and  connection with the hope of creating objects that empower healing and connect us to a greater collective wisdom.
